Reaching for the Sun at Intersolar 2025

January 16, 2025

Intersolar kicks off next week, as if to reinforce the prevailing sentiment across the solar industry that the show must go on. Political ups and downs are nothing new for our business, and like many of you, the Parasol team has seen our share after 15 years in the solar carport business.

But the truth is, the fundamentals of solar have not changed. In fact, they have only gotten better. Solar continues to be the least expensive form of new energy generation — and is breaking all previous records for US manufacturing. There is no slowing down this economic momentum, especially in the face of surging energy demand. Solar is key to meeting that demand.

American Made for the Win

At Parasol, we’ve been executing a US steel and manufacturing strategy since our earliest days, having learned like many the importance of a secure and viable supply chain during the Covid years. We have been sourcing US steel and iron since we started in the industry, to comply with Buy America Act requirements as we were selected to build several megawatts of canopies at Camp Lejeune, NC, Wounded Warrior hospital and several Veterans’ Administration healthcare facilities across the US, as well as a US Embassy abroad.

We’ll also unveil an exciting new product strategy that we’ve been working on with our customers for more than a year now. Having heard from them about the need for greater procurement flexibility and ease of installation, we’ve developed a highly elegant, extremely efficient solution perfect for EPCs angling to squeeze more energy per square foot out of every installation.

Solflex: Inspiration in a Solar Carport Kit?

The Parasol SolflexTM is made entirely of US steel from US manufacturing facilities. Pre-engineered with standard-sized, pre-fabricated and pre-drilled columns, the Solflex arrives at the job site ready to install, with no welding required. The fact that it’s solar panel agnostic enables installers to pair the system with any panel in their inventory – including products coming off the line at a nearby US factory.

But most importantly, the Solflex is an aesthetically designed solution that has the audacity to promise inspiration at a time when this is just what the industry needs.

If we are to not just survive but thrive as an industry, we need inspiring solutions that cause people to look up and say, “Wow, that’s solar?”

The Solflex provides the supply assurance developers need, the architectural design their customers want, and the installation ease that EPCs simply must have.

On our new website, launched just this week, we’re providing all the details on the Solflex kit. We’re also debuting a new, aspirational brand promise that we hope you will take to heart: Reach for the Sun. It’s our nod to the ever-present need to keep looking up, doing your best work, inspiring your customers with renewable energy solutions that get better every year.

This year’s Intersolar will no doubt be a time of coming together. So we hope you will stop by the Parasol booth #1545. And then, like us, we hope you will pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and get on with it.

Because the solar show will go on. Count on it.
